DECISION PRIMER: Jamarion Batemon announcing college commitment July 1

Iowa State basketball recruit Jamarion Batemon, a Milwaukee, Wisc., native, is announcing his college commitment on Monday, which was first reported by Joe Tipton of On3.

Batemon has long been Iowa State’s top target in the 2025 recruiting class as a high-level shot-making guard who stands 6-foot-3 with a wiry 170-pound frame

In the most recent 247Sports rankings update, Batemon rose to the No. 54 prospect nationally and the No. 2 prospect in Wisconsin in his class. The 247Sports Composite ranking has Batemon has the No. 64 player and the No. 9 shooting guard in the class.

This spring and summer Batemon has lit up the Adidas 3SSB circuit with 22.2 points a game for 17U Power 5, a Wisconsin-based team. His elite shot-making this spring in 92-77 win over Compton Magic, including a 7-11 shooting performance. He’s a dangerous 3-point shot-maker with ultimate confidence, attempting 19 treys in a game earlier this spring.

Batemon has earned new scholarship offers from ClemsonDePaulVirginia Tech and West Virginia this spring. But entering his decision, Batemon looks to be deciding between the Cyclones and Marquette.
