Milwaukee Academy of Science at a glance
MIlwaukee Academy of Science

The mission of the Milwaukee Academy of Science, an exemplary leader in innovative science education that maximizes the potential of each young mind, is to graduate urban students prepared to compete successfully in science at the post-secondary level, by providing a rigorous 21st century curriculum taught by master educators in collaboration with students, families, staff, and the community.

The Milwaukee Academy of Science is an independent charter school, opened in August 2000. The school serves students from K4 through twelfth grade. Our rich and challenging curriculum emphasizes science and the partnerships we have in the community enable us to offer our students unique science opportunities.

The school is governed by the Milwaukee Science Education Consortium, a 501c(3) organization. The Consortium includes representatives from the Medical College of Wisconsin, Marquette University, Cardinal Stritch University, Alverno College, the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) and Mount Mary College. In July 2008, the Consortium began a new five-year charter agreement with the City of Milwaukee.
